The Modern Musick-Master, Book 3
The Modern Musick-Master, Book 3 composed by Prelleur. For soprano recorder or tenor recorder. Recorder Solos. Book. Published by Pan Verlag (MM.PAN0266).
Little is known about Peter Prelleur, the author of "The Modern Mustik-Master". According to John Hawkins he was probably French. It is not known when he moved to London. He wrote music for the stage, symphonies, psalms, sacred and secular songs. He probably died between 1748 and 1758. His "Modern Mustik-Master" is considered one of the most interesting English publications from the first half of the 18th century. These dances can inspire the recorder player, with a basic knowledge of the instrument, to practise phrasing, articulation and ornamentation. Basle, June 1984 - Manfred Harras.
