The sheet music is for the original version, not the same key as sung by the Mamas and the Pappas. Dream a Little Dream of Me is not what I expected.

I used this book to write an arrangement of a four song medley for SATB + Piano. I chose the songs in this order: "Monday, Monday", "Dedicated to the One I Love", "Words of Love", and "California Dreamin'". This book proved to be helpful with certain aspects of the music. I...

used it for lyrics (it had the wrong word only on one occasion). I also used the melody line to get a lot of the pitches as I wrote the Soprano or other solos parts (it was probably 95% correct). I wrote my arrangements in the same key as the book, because the Mamas and Papas liked to sing in some nasty keys. The only thing you can't really use this book for is the rhythm of the melody line. It has been quantized to make it easier for novices to pick it up and sing it. You are better off to just listen to the original recording for the rhythm. The book has a lot of additional songs that are classics and a few obscure tunes. Overall, the book is a great buy for the price and a lot of fun to play and sing.
