I play upright bass. And playing along with CD's of my favorite music is a blast. Most of the swing, jump blues and roots music I play I can figure the changes and play by ear. Louis Prima does some difficult, for me, songs and I thought the songbook...

would help to find some of the changes that are not intuitive. The book really helps with this. Although most of the songs are not in the same key that the recordings are so transposing is necessary. A good value, and good resourse.

  • March 21, 2006 Louis Prima is tuff to transcribe!!!!

I took a shot and bought this book even though there were no reviews present. It was definately worth the money. Louis prima does a lot of improvising with the lyrics, and it is tuff to play that in the melody, it kinda sounds strange so you'll have to...

trim it down. Also some of the sounds are very much like the original versions that lack the Prima wild style. Its definately not for a beginner or it can be if your willing to work hard. Zoomba zoom-ba bacoo--la!!!!!
