Stephen DeCesare has adapted the text of Psalm 23 to the music of Giacomo Puccini, Sale ascende l'uman cantico. The anthem is best sung by three equal voice parts (either women or men), but it is possible for an SAB choir to sing it, with the men on the second or third part. The music is sung twice, each time with a different text coming from an original paraphrase of Psalm 23. This would make a lovely Offertory or Communion motet on Good Shepherd Sunday - it's also quite useful at a funeral.
