I wasn't all that thrilled with the arrangements of some of the songs. The book is much more simple than I would have expected, and some songs I found rather boring. However, even though I've never seen the Broadway show, I recognized almost all of the songs due...

to the instrumentals of the movie version. "King of Pride Rock" and "Eternal Night" are my two favorite songs, and most of them sound good, even if they are easy.

I am enjoying the book, there are some great songs that have been added to the Broadway version. My only complaint is that there are some places where the accompaniment suddenly switches from melody to harmony. I'm making my own changes to the music, but it's a little...

frustrating when the music changes without notice. It would be nice if the music were offered in more of a "piano solo" arrangement.

  • January 06, 2007 Great songs; arrangement could be better

The Lion King is my all-time favorite movie, and I love the show so I had to get my hands on this book. All the songs that were added into the show are great; the music and lyrics are amazing and really accentuate the story. Unfortunately the lack of...

difficulty in some places disappointed me a bit. Some songs, like The Morning Report and CYFTLT, are very good and challenging to play, but others like IJCWTBK, are closer to Easy-Piano level. Others don't have melody in the piano part. Of course, you can always improvise and add the melody yourself, which is what I did, but I expected just a little more from this book. If you love TLK though, I certainly won't stop you from buying it!

ok, so if you want to believe this, you should, cuz its true. my uncle designed and made all of the puppets for the broadway show, and so i started to get really into disney music. when he took us to new york to see it opening night, it was...

amazing. this book really captures the performances volume and intencity, along with its sincerity and hilarious antics. (BTW, my uncle also made all of the puppets for the Olympics, like the big bear and the wind people.....)
