This work was written for the Freedom Brass Band of Northeast Ohio in the summer of 2011. It is inspired by the great words of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. This address speaks to the ideals of human equality and freedom, and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect those ideals. Lincoln refers to this sacrifice as "the last full measure of devotion" and it is to those men and women who so bravely sacrificed that this work is dedicated. The address can be read over the music to add a truly inspirational level to the performance. Performance Time: approx. 7 minutes For typical American Brass Band instrumentation.
