    Difficulty Level:
  • June 05, 2012 King's Singers Book of Rounds, et. al.

I was having some friends over to read madrigals and thought rounds would be a good complement. This wonderful collection has both simple and complex examples of the form, historical and newer tunes. A handful I remembered from my days at music camp and wished to revisit. Others touched memories...

for my fellow amateurs singers. We had a grand time.

    Difficulty Level:
  • September 10, 2008 Rounds are Still great fun

I bought this book to study the form and have found that family and friends enjoy them. Some are simple: a beautiful one-liner ("Turn Again Whittingon") mimics the sound of the bells of London; some are complex. Another, "Coffee Canon" has anti-coffee lyrics, and provoked amongst us a...

set of pro-coffee lyrics. One (Japanese) we haven't tried yet is a round where the parts are separated only by one beat. The book is a treasure.

The book was full of rounds I've known most of my life. Now, I want to adapt some of them for harp playing with L hand - or another harp- playing the second voice. It would be great for a group of harps to each take a voice and play...
