As recorded on the Silverline Records album XXL (CD and DVD Audio) by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, this ferocious chart is a totally hot rock-swing-jazz for big band. It will tear it up every performance! Featuring solo space for tenor, trumpet, trombone, or guitar, tons of energy abounds from the first note to the last. Perfect for any experienced band in concert or festival setting.

"This hot jazz-rock arrangement of the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band original features a driving bass line and solo sections for alto sax, tenor sax, and drums. A playable yet high-energy chart, the arrangement features fully notated solos, manageable ranges (lead trumpet to written G5), and a solo section that can be opened up for additional players."

This song is absolutely great, combining a great rhythmic feel and some seriously cool sections, with a relentless burst of rock and roll energy that propel the piece to greatness. When I first heard the song on The Big Phat Band's album XXL, I was completely taken with the...

impeccable style and groove of the chart. A note to any conductors, the chart is fairly easy, no complicated rhythms or anything particularly tough that will need polishing, but head Gordon Goodwin's warning: the lead trumpet, drummer, and bari sax have to drive this chart relentlessly. A note to my trumpet brethren, you'll need some ridiculously high chops; the first half of the chart sees you frequently up in the high E range, while the second half pushes you to the high F and F Sharps, with one particularly screaming shout chorus, and eventually ending on a double-hgh B.
