The Hymn to the Muse as written by a very old singer/songwriter called Mesomedes about 2,000 years ago. Mesomedes of Crete (Ancient Greek: Μεσομήδης ὁ Κρής) was a Roman-era Greek lyric poet and composer of the early 2nd century AD. He was a freedman of the Emperor Hadrian, on whose favorite Antinous he is said to have written a panegyric, specifically called a Citharoedic Hymn (Suidas). Wikipedia reference. Originally meant for guitar, I adapted the Hymn (first movement) along with two other work which is entitled The Hellenic Suite. The Hellenic Suite debuted in Athens, Greece in 2009.
