    So I bought this book and have had it for a while. It sounds just like the movie, however some songs are very challenging. And I only like to play the two or three songs that I actually recognize from the movie.

  • April 14, 2013 Where's Over Hill?!

    As much as I really wanted to love this songbook, I was a little disappointed with the arrangements of the pieces. A lot of them have long passages of very chromatic chords (too much for the piano, in my opinion), which is fine though, because that is what the pieces...

    are. Also, apart from The Misty Mountains and Song of the Lonely Mountain, the main theme of the film is nowhere to be found in the book in non-song format. For some unknown reason, they decided to omit Over Hill from this book, which would have made it a whole lot better in my eyes. There are some pieces in the book that are quite easy to play, whereas there are others which are quite challenging. All in all, a nice folio, just lacking in some of the more important pieces from the film.
