This piece was commissioned by Swiss euphonium virtuoso Erich Schmidli. Bert Appermont dug deep into Celtic music for inspiration and created a fantasy that shows off the incredible, but often overlooked, versatility of the euphonium. Charminglyrical melodies, virtuosic runs and exciting, colourful tuttis create plenty of contrast in this exciting work. Mooie lyrische melodieen, virtuoze loopjes en kleurrijke tutti's die elkaar afwisselen. Dat is The Green Hill van Bert Appermont. Hij schreef het in opdracht van Erich Schmidli uit Zwitserland. Keltische muziek vormde hierbij zijninspiratie. Hij maakte er een fantasie van waarin alle facetten van de euphonium aan bod komen. Door de moeilijkheidsgraad is het werk voor de meeste solisten en orkesten goed speelbaar. Een mooi werk waarmee u uw solist eens in de spotlights zet!

Dieses Werk wurde in Auftrag des Schweizers Erich Schmidli geschrieben. Bert Appermont liess sich dazu von keltischer Musik inspirieren und schuf eine Fantasie, in der alle Facetten des Euphoniums zur Geltung kommen. Schone lyrische Melodien, virtuoseLaufe und farbenreiche Tuttis wechseln einander ab. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad von sowohl Solist als auch Blasorchester erlaubt fast jedem Orchester, das seinen Euphoniumsolisten einmal ins Rampenlicht rucken will, dieses Werk aufzufuhren.

The Green Hill (La verte colline) est une oeuvre de commande taillee sur mesure pour le virtuose suisse de l'euphonium, Erich Schmidli. C'est en s'inspirant de la musique celtique que Bert Appermont a compose cette fantaisie,representative de toutes les facettes de l'euphonium. La musicalite, l'expressivite et la couleur sonore de l'instrument sont soulignees par l'accompagnement orchestral particulierement abouti. Le degre de difficulte dela partie solistique tout comme celui de la partie orchestrale vous permettra de placez votre soliste sous les feux de la rampe avec cette oeuvre pleine d'elegance.
