    The print is very clear; the translations are much better than usual, but after looking at "Automne" (Fauré), it appears that there are note errors, mostly in the accompaniment. One can hope that it was just this song, but if this is how the rest of the songs are, than...

    Till now, in my amateur singing, I have always been steered to German Lieder, and I have added to those my special interest in Russian art songs (a treasure practically unknown in American recitals). These French songs were a revelation to me. I enjoyed looking through the selection, and it...

    is exciting to work in a new tradition. For example, I knew Bizet only from Carmen, but here were some good items at the very beginning of the book. This high voice edition is good for my tenor range and, I suspect, for mezzo-soprano and soprano as well.
