A very nice collection of Jaco material in a well printed book. A little pricey, but, that seems to be the way these days. It really could have used a CD with it.

I got this book about a month ago, and have been playing it almost every day. I personally have only been playing for about a year, and because of this book and others like it, I am a better bassist than people who have been playing most of their lives...

And this book has the best selection of any Jaco book, this book is essential for any bassist who wants to get better and expand their musicality. BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

Jaco was, of course, 'The Man'. Not just in terms of his bass playing, but what he did for the art on music in general. My brother bought this book for me awhile back, and I've been working on various excerpts from it ever since. I like to combine...

learning the notes from the book with listening to the actual recordings at half-speed and work it out that way. There don't seem to be any discrepencies between what I'm hearing and the transcriptions in the book. It is as the name implies; Essential.
