I play and sing these songs at a local coffee. They go crazy, always asking for me to come back again. You wont regret this purchase.

  • January 08, 2010 Excellent transcriptions and quite accurate!

I bought this as a basic Elton John reference book and was quite surprised with the note-for-note transcriptions. This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to play Elton John songs just like the piano parts (and in some cases other parts, e.g., synth parts on Benny...

& The Jets and string parts on Goodbye Yellow Brick Road) on the album versions. A very good book indeed!

  • February 02, 2009 Many parts to compile

I am a clasically trained pianist intermediate/advanced level I and have difficulty with this book. The arrangements are for several different instruments, and it's almost impossible to read/play/compile all of the lines for the melodies and harmony on the piano. If you are looking for a...

straight piano book this isn't great.

  • November 11, 2008 More on this book

This book is for you if you want to play the way Elton John plays, either in concert or on the recordings. In concert he improvises some. However, not all the songs are in this book. For other songs buy the Elton John collection, Greatest hits 1970-2002,To Be...

Continued, or Anthology. Most of these arrangements have the melody in the chords. However, if you do not want to play the melody just skip it and just play the chords and improvise.
