I usually like the Brickman style, but must say a lot of this is "overkill". I do enjoy most of the arrangements, though. It is difficult to play without knowing the original melody of each song beforehand. Not for the beginner.

Most of the songs are fairly easy if you already know the tune. A couple of them are hard because he added a few little extra notes to make it sound like his version.

......califragilisticexpialidocious I am very picky about the music that I decide to love and learn on the piano. Since I am a huge Disney-music fan and love Brickman's other material, I decided to have a go at these more difficult versions of the songs I love so much...

. So far I am very pleased! Some Day My Prince Will Come, the Mary Poppins theme, and When You Wish Upon a Star are my favorites, and I have yet to master the other pieces. This music is border-line Advanced, because of its intense rythems. If you are a new pianist, or just down-right impatient, I would think twice before purchasing these versions of the songs because of Brickman's surprising (but totally fun) rythems. Though these pieces are written in a completly new style, they definetly live up to the classic versions, and all of the songs are very well-written. The book would be a great way for piano teachers to encourage their students to learn the difficult rythems, but still enjoy the music that they are learning.
