This is one of my absolute favorite Easter cantatas. Every song is inspiring and moving in its own way. The hardest challenge presented by this cantata is for choir members to be able to sing the beautiful selections without sobbing.

  • March 21, 2008 It has been part of my soul for 20 year

I believe I first sang this cantata with our choir in 1982, and again with another church in 1989. To this day I know every word and note to this entire cantata. I have sung may pieces of music in my life, but none have moved my heart and soul...

the way this entire piece does. I remember having to hold back from sobbing during the performances, it is so powerful.

  • April 13, 2007 Best Easter Cantata & it's timeless

I first performed this cantata in 1988. This year (2007) will be the third time I will perform it. This is by far my favorite cantata. The songs are timeless and easy enough for most choirs to learn. Treat you congregation to this wonderful collection of songs that tell the...

story of Jesus' gift to us.
