  • June 11, 2008 A Fine Collection

This volume has a number of great fiddle tunes arranged in a easy to follow manner with good notes. The difficult passages are discussed with helpful hints included. I took the book to a copy center and had the binding cut and and had it spiral bound so it would...

lay flat on a stand for me; I have found this helpful with a lot of my music.

  • May 19, 2008 A great choice.

I found this book to have some of the best versions of tunes I had been playing for years. I feel the overall collection of tunes is superb and the font very pleasant to read. each tune has some very interesting and useful information written above to assist the player...

. There is just one thing that lets this book down for me and it probably isn't the fault of the writer but of the publisher. The book is bound in a way that not only will it not stay on a music stand but barely stays open at all. It is bound similarly to a paperback which is a major inconvenience to myself and my students.

  • December 21, 2005 Great Selection!

I love this book because it has all the old standbys with some variation licks written in. It is a good way to learn fiddle tunes if you already play "violin." Having the chords printed in the music is a plus as well. Some of the chords chosen seem to...

be a little bit "boring" but any good guitar player will know how to spruce it up. All in all, a great little book with a ton of tunes.
