Collection of Latin American and Spanish vocal music, presenting this exciting repertoire in a new and practical form. All the books, written in both English and Spanish, have an introduction which contextualizes these works with their composers and poets. With the aim of providing practical tools to singers and teachers, the collection has English translations of the poems, transcriptions in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) and Diction and Interpretation guides. The collection is edited by Dr. Patricia Caicedo, soprano and musicologist renounced in academic circles for her pioneering research and interpretation of this repertoire. The first two volumes in the collection are dedicated to the Columbian Art Song and present the vocal works of composer Jaime Leon (*1921). His art songs are considered amongst the most beautifully written in Latin America during the last century.
