  • October 17, 2008 Great book for all whistle players!

I thought when I bought this book that I would pretty much know everthing in the instructional area, boy was I wrong! This book has really excellent detail about ornamentation and with the CD it makes it easier to learn. It also lets you know about notes that I wouldn...

't have thought reachable for a standard D whistle, I'm not to keen to try to achieve them for fear of causing my whole family splitting headaches for months! The selections of music in the intermediate/advanced area of the book are quite interesting, but the music for beginners is much the same as any other beginners tin whistle book. I would recommend this book for anyone interested in learning new tin whistle techniques. For players that want really challenging stuff, this probably isn't the book I'd choose, it's more of a learning book that introduces you to the different types of folk music that can be played on a tin whistle. It's a very good book and I shall use it to improve my technique!!
