This song book was one of the most anticipated and then disappointing pieces of sheet music I have ever purchased. I was extremely frustrated by the arrangements of classic Christmas pop tunes such as "The Christmas Waltz" because they take far to many liberties with the music, often entirely missing...

the typical harmonies we all know and love and instead verging on avant-garde jazz sounds; perhaps this would be permissible to those interested in such things were it not for the advertising which claims "there are 8 popular Christmas standards in arrangements especially for singers" which does not remotely hint at the fact that this book for "Classical Singers" does not stick with the original classic sound. I would have appreciated some warning. I would have given this book only 1 star, but I ought to give it 2 stars because the older works in the book are the originals, and I particularly enjoyed being able to play through the Debussy Noel which is rare and unusual to come by.
