  • April 05, 2011 Really Cool

Before you buy this, realize that it is extremely challenging, but with enough practice the songs are incredibly fun to play. I recommend trying to find a video of Victor playing the song you want to learn because it’s impossible to pick up some of the technique from the...

book alone. A few very minor errors in the tabs, 100 percent correct in notation. Great buy for all Victor Wooten fans; taking time to practice these songs will undoubtedly make you a better bass player.

  • December 08, 2008 Victor Wooten - The Book

The book is a great teaching tool, the only problem i have with it is that a number of methods victor uses in his playing are not gone over very effectively in the book, the double thumb for example is expected to be used but there is no excercise or...

example of how do to so effectively. Other than that the songs are still fairly hard to learn and regardless of playing ability, because of the number of mutes and use of slapping, technique for some of the songs takes practice which at times can be tiresome, if you are looking for a quick way to learn how to play victor wooten stuff, buy a CD and press play. other than that, this book is great!

  • December 29, 2005 Challenging but incredibly useful

A great window into the technique of a truly great bassist. Bassline construction, soloing methods, fingering techniques and more can all be learned from this book with a little analyzation. I myself have used several of these transcriptions as performance pieces with fantastic response. Full transcriptions with technique and method...

written out for all songs. An excellent buy for personal improvement and a milestone in any bassists repertoire.
