I echo the previous reviewer's high praise! This is a wonderful collection of music, pieces that I never thought I would be playing, but the arrangements are excellent. I've always loved J.S. Bach's Aria from the Goldberg Variations, the Arioso from Keyboard Concerto no. 5 (BWV1056...

) and Sleepers Awake from the Wachet Auf cantata. Now I'm playing them! For a frustrated amateur pianist, this is pure joy! Only disappointment so far is the arrangement of Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring; it's over-simplified (no running triplets) and not on the same level as the others. For Jesu, go with Robert Schultz's arrangement. Also, you'll need to figure out your own fingering, as there are no finger markings for any of the pieces. That's fine by me; I tend to edit fingering anyway. One nice feature, the notes are spaced on the pages so they're easily read throughout the book; no squinting needed! Such pretty music. From the well-known pieces to the sweet sounds of the baroque period, this collection will have the common classical musician enthralled and captivated in the attempt to learn and master each one of these pieces. This book is a "must-have" on every keyboardist's list and will never...

accumulate dust on the shelf. Although this collection of works contains intermediate to advanced compositions, the novices can definitely get of to a great classical start by making an attempt at learning and eventually will master the music as well. I definately recommend this book as well as collections by J.S. Bach. Have at it!
