The message of this song is powerful to music lovers. No one can sing or hear it without being awakened to music's power and influence. We all need to be reminded of that.

Heard Eckerd College Choir perform it on Mother's Day - it was so beautiful; I got goosebumps. I'd love to hear it again and again!

My high school choir director did this song every year at the final concert for 15 years. It is an amazingly beautiful piece that was always everyone's favorite. I recently went back for his final concert and all the alumni got up to do this song with him one...

more time. At the end all of us were crying. I would recommend this piece to anyone.

I have performed and recorded this piece a few years back with the Turtle Creek Chorale. It became sort of our theme song. The first time I performed it on stage with full orchestra and organ was awsome and spectacular. At the final last "Let Music Live" the audience were...

applauding and standing. It brought me to tears how a piece of music can communicate. It is still one of my favorite pieces today.

  • June 18, 2008 My fondest memory

I first sang this song in high school my Sophomore year. It was beautiful. We sang it for graduation the next three years and it still bring tears to my eyes every time I sing my soprano line. My choral director had lost her husband my Freshman year and when...

we all sang this at one of oour concerts, we filled it with all the feeling and emotion that we felt for her and she was in tears by the halfway point. This song means so much to me and those of us in the choir that year. It stands for losing those we love and moving on, leaving our friends behind to pursue our dreams. I will never forget this song. I sing the last several measures often and every time I think of my beloved choir director who taught us so much.
