I am professionally pursuing baroque violin, and found this to be the most complete, satisfying and fulfilling living historical document on the technique, and study to advance oneself in the field. It is for beginners, professionals, and all in-between. There are scale studies, bowing studies, sonatas, duos, and, consequently...

, trios (violin and cello with figured bass for harpsichord), with explanations on "how to" by Geminiani. All the pieces are presumed to be his compositions (there is a certain intriguing partita in there for solo violin which I cant wait to try) and the book itself is very large, but not thick. The original is in a private collection, and is known to be the most authentic of all the surviving copies.
