This book is fabulous; I remembered singing these carols in school as a child and wanted to add them to my music collection. What a wonderful surprise to see the original hand-written versions along with the history of the carols. I'm glad to have found this wonderful collection...

  • January 29, 2009 Great price on this fabulous collection

The pieces in this book are easily sight read, and although many are not well known, it was a delight to read the original Christmas cards that accompanied each piece. The history behind the songwriting was very interesting. Each piece is also the original music as written by Alfred Burt...

, and you can see the original on those Christmas cards. I purchased this book for two of my favorite Alfred Burt pieces, "Some Children See Him" and "We'll Dress the House". If you are not an Alfred Burt fan, or don't really know his pieces well, you may not enjoy this collection as much as I do. If you enjoy learning about the composer, and the timeliness of the music, than this is a great deal....as the price is right!

The music is beautiful. The layout is appealing. The narrative notes by the late composer's wife add so much background. The price is reasonable. What more can one ask?

  • February 08, 2008 Christmas music I enjoyed for years, are here

I was looking for one Christmas song "This is Christmas." But nobody heard about it. It is never played on the radio during the holidays. Now I have it and other christmas song I have heard over the years, at my finger tips. I like the bio for the songs...

I like to know the history of the song.
