The Adventures of Egbert is an exciting new concept in violin teaching - a story which has all the right ingredients to appeal to primary and early secondary school age pupils, incorporating valuable technical exercises and well-known tunes for the beginner violinist. Egbert can be used in a one-to-one teaching context, or else with a violin group of varying ability, while for non-specialist teachers, there are plenty of opportunities to involve the whole class (not just the violinists) in a mini dramatic production.

My violin students, age 4-8, have a lot of fun with Egbert! It's a great supplement to other materials, especially since it incorporates Twinkle, Twinkle, Hot Cross Buns and Lightly Row, along with original tunes, into its storyline of pirates, singing parrots and circuses. I only wish there...

were more female characters, since most of my students are girls.
