  • February 23, 2011 abcs of violin dvd very good

this dvd got me going really well in the beginning, and now i'm in abcs of violin for the intermediate book 2. the teacher is very professional and her expertise shows in this dvd and all her books. i have the entire series and can tell you the progression...

of techniques makes it easy to learn. i can go back to this dvd and review my violin posture and bow, and check my pitches. there is another dvd of hers' at the intermediate level that is very good too. you can play all the songs in her 1st 2 books with the intermediate dvd. yay to this dvd for getting me going in the best way possible! i tried youtube, but you can't compare it to learning correctly from a real professional.

  • October 16, 2009 Very good!

This dvd really helped me learn the basics in violin. I would highly recommend it to adults, children and adolescents who want to know simple things and try playing and reading a little music. Not intimidating.

  • September 14, 2009 I like it!

have been using this with pretty good success considering I never touched a violin before. Has inspired a new interest I'll keep doing. Probably private lessons. Would definitely recommend to new people trying violin.

  • January 29, 2009 get the first and second ABC's DVD!

these two Violin DVDs are amazing! I did so well with both DVDs that when I started taking private lessons after 3 months on my own, my teacher couldn't believe I never took private lessons before! If you want to learn from scratch, this is the way to go...

  • August 06, 2008 great if you know nothing about violin

goes over basic things like holding the violin and bow, putting on rosin, naming parts of violin and naming lines and spaces of the staff, also playing one song and scale. Breaks the song into manageable smaller sections. Makes violin seem more accessible to a real novice like me. Worth...

every penny. Great way to start. Very useful in the beginning. Glad I got it.
