    I directed the chancel choir at Community Lutheran Church in Sterling, Virginia when we did this in June,2006. This was a group that read well and it was only a mild stretch for them...about the same difficulty as DuBois, Seven Last Words. It resonated very well with both...

    the congregation and the choir due to its use of English and Latin as well as the mix of modern and contemporary musical styles. I recomend it highly!

    I was part of a choir that sang this work at Carnegie Hall in November of 2008. It's demanding, but very satisfying to sing. It is very well written -- certainly modern, yet quite accessible for the listener. I especially like the fact that while it is in English, certain...

    mystical passages are also treated in Latin.
