  • December 13, 2009 Moderators anyone?

This is a truly beautiful work for the saxophone and the different movements cover a great deal of the expressive styles that the instrument is capable of with the last movement being a supreme technical challenge. and to the reviewer who gave this piece one star you have to look...

in the black of the music booklet for the sax part. What your looking at is the line for the accompanist to read.

  • July 07, 2009 A Worthy Masterwork

A highly challenging and wonderful piece that has been performed by the very best. The melodies are very enjoyable and the required technicality will challenge anyone. A great concert work, this piece is truly worth the effort to master. Recordings have been made by Marcel Mule (rare recording) and Harvey...

Pittel (Amazon); both worth listening to.

  • June 29, 2009 Do NOT buy this piece

This particular copy was a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE purchase. This is more of a piano accompaniment sheet music piece than a saxophone solo piece. The saxophone part is put in concert G major, so you'd have to transcribe it yourself. I don't know why other people gave this 5...

stars. I don't think they even bought this piece to begin with. It is a nice piece but this particular publication is horrible. Do NOT buy this publication. If you're planning on playing this song, go buy a different publication.

I could buy 3 or more pieces that I prefer just as much, or more. Not sure why it's so expensive.

  • August 01, 2008 Great piece! worth every penny!

Tableaux de Provence is an extremely unique and difficult piece. It shows off technicality, expression, and overall mastery of the saxophone. I would definitely recommend studying this piece if you are seeking a challenging saxophone standard.
