Glazunov's Ninth Symphony received its premiere performance on May 7, 1948 during a radio broadcast of the Symphony Orchestra of the USSR Radio Committee. Its first public performance was given in Kislovodsk on July 13, 1948 by the Leningrad Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by G. Yudin.
