  • July 24, 2005 Catchy Themes Make Suite Work

I've done band arrangements of this work several times and I've always liked it. Even the longest movements (Cake Walk, Western One Step and Rag)seem to be a breeze because of the themes and the way the transitional sections are worked around them. The entire suite seems...

to move along without bogging down, and the "drive to the end" on the Rag puts a fitting conclusion to the work.
