Edited by Arthur Greenish. Arranged by Arthur Greenish. Books. Published by Stainer & Bell Ltd. (MN.B228).

Item Number: MN.B228

Part 1: English and foreign terms and expressions, with their signification.

Part 2: A selection of English terms and words, with their equivalents in Italian, German, and French.

It is hoped that this Dictionary of Musical Terms may prove useful to students and others as a book of reference in connection with their musical studies. In addition to the majority of musical terms met with, it includes tables of notes and keys in various languages, the helpful French time-names (which now form such a prominent feature in aural training), and a comprehensive list of abbreviations.

A special and novel feature of the book is the provision of a list of English words, with their equivalents in Italian, German, and French; a feature which- so far as the compiler is aware- is not contained in any similar publication.
