The overture to George Gershwin's musical 'Strike up the Band' has been masterly arranged by our grand old master Desire Dondeyne. 'Strike Up the Band' is a milestone in the history of the Broadway musical, both as to the music and as to the plot. It could be considered as a kind of 'finger-exercise' for his most important composition, the opera 'Porgy and Bess' which has also been published by Molenaar Edition in a first class arrangement by Marcel Peeters.
