Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Young Concert Band. Command Series. Audio recording available separately (item CL.WFR359). Extra full score. Composed 2008. Duration 3 minutes, 12 seconds. C.L. Barnhouse #011-3743-01. Published by C.L. Barnhouse (CL.011-3743-01).

Built in 1873, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse is the tallest tower on the Oregon Coast, soaring 93 feet in the air. While the lighthouse has never been damaged, it has witnessed many severe storms. Stormy Seas is a musical depiction of one such storm. Alternating with brief periods of calm, the composition could easily be described as fast, furious and exhilarating. Well-written wind parts coupled with a strong contribution by the percussion section makes this work the perfect choice for your band's favorite piece for years to come. Audiences will be captivated by the sounds of lightning and thunder at the very end!
