  • October 12, 2008 Great method for all ages

I have personally used this book from the first year onwards. I am a professional now, but it's still one of my priorities. It provides great practice-ideas, something like LH Stevens MOM for marimba. You can read it and follow it literally if you are a beginner, or...

you can invent you own exercises. Very good purchase for all ages/levels

  • April 06, 2007 A must have

For any level, you can make it as hard on yourself as you want. It looks a bit boring but so are tone ladders to other instruments I guess. Stick control really improves your command of the sticks. Not only for snare drummers, but also on a kit.

  • March 16, 2007 Requires dedication but will not dissapoint

If you have the focus to spend one hour a day with this book, you will definitely see an improvement, no matter your skill level. The exercises familiarize you with so many different rhythmic combinations that almost nothing feels "weird" to play anymore. Boosts confidence and skill. One thing, be...

familiar with formal drum technique before you buy this, because there is very little in the way of explanations. Example, if you don't know what a flam or a double-stroke roll is, learn it beforehand. Overall very very highly recommended.
