  • April 04, 2011 Too difficult for elementary students!

The music in this book is much too difficult for an elementary student even though it says "Elementary piano solos" on the front cover. There are key signatures with two sharps, accidentals scattered through every piece, tricky rhythms, and very high and very low ledger line notes. I bought this...

for a student who just started piano and I find the book useless. It would be years before the student would be able to learn the pieces and then he would not be interested because it is geared towards young children. The short pieces (most only one page), cute drawings, and fun activities are fitting for an elementary child; too bad it is too difficult for them to learn the music!
