  • October 16, 2006 gambale speed picking booklet review

This booklet has excellent exercises to help develop the 'economy' style of playing and the tab is accurate. But, it is VERY advanced and had I not started off with the Jimmy Bruno "art of picking" book the gambale book would have been too hard. Jimmy bruno's technique is...

similar to gambale's. Bruno explains clearly in his 'Art of picking' book how to hold your pick and how to use your right arm to start using this 'sweeping' technique effectively. Gambale doesn't explain any of this in his book and probably assumes anyone who buys it has decent right hand technique already. I've been playing for 25 years. My favorite guitar player is B.B. king, so it's a huge change in styles. I want to express myself more on guitar and have a more relaxed right hand and Gambale, in my opinion, is the best at playing fast and tastefully.
