  • May 30, 2011 Malaguena

This book is rated beginner-intermediate guitar. It should be rated, intermediate-beginner guitar. Meaning that this stuff hardly rates the beginner category. If you play guitar at all, you should be able to breeze through this in a few hours tops. I was very disappointed with this book...however...

I did order a "real" version of Malaguena from this outfit and it is satisfactory. I will be very wary of difficulty ratings and reviews in the future. I donated my unused book to Goodwill.

  • September 20, 2008 Great Starter!

I've just recently begun playing spanish classical music and this book has been an invaluable tool. In terms of difficulty, it is not too bad. Malaguena, Recuerdos de la Alhambra and Asturias Leyenda present quite a challenge as they are full of tremelo picking using alternate fingering. Great book...

    for the beginner!

  • August 04, 2008 Very Good Book

The reason I bought this book was because of the la paloma. I was hoping it would be the same one Celino Romero is playing on you tube but its not. It is the same melody but played differently. Otherwise the book is just fine. Highly recommended.

All of the books in this series are excellent values. I have this book and "Classical for Guitar", and have gotten a lot of enjoyment from both.
