  • June 23, 2001 A worthy addition

A worthy addition to a guitarist's library.Title is misleading as all pieces are in standard notation as well as tab.Binding does not allow book to lie flat on music stand. Tab is a nice addition, allowing easier reading of difficult fingerings. Where I come from, these pieces...

are hard to come by individually, and Albeniz pieces are part of the core rep of the classical guitar. Various transcriptions have been used, including ones by Tarrega, Llobet and Bitetti. This book should keep you amused for a lifetime or two. I am a guitar teacher at a primary school, and teach jazz at a Technikon- so none of my students will be likely to use this book. I started playing pop music in the late 50's, and gradually worked my way up, studying classical up to teacher level.
