This book has nothing to do with songwriting at all! Stephen Citron provides no techniques or methods to write good songs. The whole book is a 'how to read music book'. That is why it has got the wrong title. All you'll find is 'this is a treble clef...

... this is the bass clef ...' All it is a guide to music for those who have no music background. I gave it to my sister she would benefit more from this than me. 'Songwriting, A complete guide to the craft' - it doesn't even touch on the subject. If you do buy the book don't get your hopes up as you'll be really annoyed as you wanted a book with a basic guide to songwriting not on how to read music again. I advise you to buy instead Jack Perricone's excellent book 'Melody in songwriting' - you can buy it here at Sheetmusicplus. [Editor's note - sku is 50449419]
