Composed by Felix Mendelssohn (1809–1847). Arranged by Andy Schmidt. Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Andy Schmidt #2861437. Published by Andy Schmidt (A0.890140).

This is one of the loveliest pieces Mendelssohn ever wrote. I keep returning to it again and again. This edition features my own fingerings and color-coded RH suggestions to help pianists play the tricky sixteenth-note patterns throughout the piece. In the original edition, it’s often not clear which hand can/should be playing which of these sixteenth notes. My version is the result of many hours of careful study, practice, and notation. The goal is to express the right hand melody as clearly as possible, with the left hand helping out whenever it can. A thoughtful, strategic RH/LH balance is called for here. The results are worth the effort-this is truly one of the most expressive piano pieces in the literature!
