  • January 22, 2016 Great value

Possibly one of the best kept secrets in Mozart piano scores... for a very reasonable price, you get all the piano sonatas (plus the fantasias) in clean and dark print, thick paper, and strong binding, with fine typesetting and page layouts. There is no fingering, but it's not really...

necessary for these works. The scholarship and advice on ornamentation have stood the test of time. This edition deserves a place in the serious pianist's library.

  • April 04, 2009 Great Edition at a Reasonable Cost

When I buy a classical work, I want what the composer actually composed, not what some editor added. This edition gives us just that: all Mozart, nothing more, nothing less. That is what an Urtext is all about! This edition does not have fingering. Neither did Mozart's original! This...

edition has only the dynamics and articulation that Mozart wrote. Everything else needs to be added by the performer. That is how it should be! If one wants a fingered edition of the Mozart Sonatas, the Henle and Peters editions are also good. But the cost of those editions is much greater than this volume. I have all my students purchase this edition. it is the best edition for the money.

  • December 03, 2008 Good if you know what you want

Well printed, good contrast, easy to read. But, there are no dynamic markings, pedaling, etc. If you have a teacher, or know exactly ehat you want that may be a plus. Easier to make fresh noted than overwrite markings that don't suit your/teacher ideas.
