Wow! Rachmaninoff was a genius! This sonata happens to be my favorite. It is so difficult, though. You should listen to Horowitz's hybrid too.

This piece is actually easier than I thought. It is quite beautiful and an accurate edition. I'm 21 and going for my masters degree. I had a wonderful time learning this piece. I am a virtuoso in training. Quite wonderful. 5 stars.

I bought this intending to learn the very popular 2nd sonata, and upon sight reading through it, I found that the original version is NOT the popular version. The REVISED version Rachmaninoff reworked is the well known version. It's important to be sure that you need the original if...

    you're buying this.

I absolutely love the third movement. I've been searching for a Rachmaninoff piece that takes the essence put into his amazing Concertos in the form of a solo piece. The notes are fine and easy to read, with very few inconsistencies with the recordings I have.
