I saw Mary Martin and Enzio Pinza in the original stage production of South Pacific in Sydney, Australia in the late 1940s or perhaps the early 50s...I know I was pre-teen, but i was already an aspiring muso and i loved the music. I once had the whole...

score, but at 66 years of age a lot of things have gone missing or have been taken by ex-wives, so it was nice to get a copy of the main piece from the show again. It may be missing the odd sophisticated chord, or maybe i just imagine that.....but it's pretty true to the original and easy enough to add a few extra linking chords. i've played all sorts of music, from orchestral, musicals, thru jazz, blues, country and rock, but in the end, for me, at least, it all comes back to melody.....a memorable, whistleable, hummable tune, which Some Enchanted Evening is.

For such a lush, romantic piece of music, this is just a thin piano transcription to accompany a soloist. I'm looking for a lush piano solo show piece.
