When I ordered this, I thought it was only an introduction to famous slide players. I didn't expect there to be a section on actually learning to play, which there is. I was pleasantly surprised. I have been teaching myself to play slide guitar for a couple of years...

, but found a lot of good exercises here and some very nice riffs. The only drawbacks are that it's hard to say what level the book is, because the exercises progress too quickly from basic to fairly hard. Also the exercise numbers in the book are different to those on the CD, which is confusing. However, this book is certainly worth buying.
