    Emerson, NJ
    Difficulty Level:
  • September 01, 2004 Awesome Book

This book provides funky riffs applied to all styles that you can work off of. It gives you everything you need if you are willing to actually make an effort. If you have an attention span and are a quick learner this book could prove invaluable to your playing.

    Difficulty Level:
  • April 13, 2004 Poor Book

No explanation of any technique at all. This is not a common style so an explanation is badly needed. I wouldnt recommend this book at all.

CD and examples very good, however the lack of slow speed examples, make for a less useful experience.

    Difficulty Level:
  • October 08, 2002 Great musician, bad teaching

The guy who wrote the book has an excellent technique, but it's difficult to learn it from the book, the examples in the CD don't have different speeds (only fast examples), there's no focus on the technical details. This book is something like "this is a great...

tecnique, i can do it, i can do it very fast and complicated, and that's all (by the way you can hear me playing on the CD)". When I bought this title i read the other review, i think if you had this guy as a teacher must be great, but learning from the book although not impossible is really difficult.

    Hollywood, CA
    Difficulty Level:

I studied under Jean Marc for one year in Hollywood and he is the most phenomenal player I have ever met! This book is a must for any guitar player even remotely interested in the styles of Flea, Parliament etc as it bridges the gap from slap bass to guitar...

and utilizes chords in the rythyms to give the illusion of an entire rythym section! Unbelievable!
