    These are tremendous and deceptively simple lyrical studies for tuba (originally cello) and a great addition to the recital repertoire. The modal folk origins of these songs set up demands for nuanced intonation, phrasing and musical sense. For the bass tubist, they are good low register studies, for the contrabass...

    tubist, they make good upper range studies.
