Solo piano - SMP Level 5 (Intermediate)
Rue des Cascades. Composed by Yann Tiersen. Recueil 1. French and Movies. Songbook. With standard notation and black & white photos (does not include words to the songs). 48 pages. Published by Editions Bourges (BU.EBR-500).

Item Number: BU.EBR-500

8.58x12.48 inches.

It's a book made out an impulsion, a desire to create a new polyphonic object. It's a book singular, strange and shrewd, in which the voice of the author resonates endlessly. We can hear the murmur of his universe, among the connections between pictures, words and music. Beyond the sense of words, sounds, beyond sounds, senses... It's a book open on Color a piano.

I found myself learning this music very quickly- I play these pieces as a warm-up to my practice or as a reward for myself after practice. They're simple, yet intriguing and beautiful. I have all of Yann Tiersen's albums, so I knew what all of these pieces...

were supposed to sound like prior to purchasing this book. That may help to those who may need help with the rhythmic patterns. [...] but the book is highly produced and is great piece to add to your contemporary piano solo collection.

The only thing my daughter wanted for her 20th birthday was the piano music of Yann Tiersen. We have both been playing like crazy since the books arrived. This music reaches in and touches your heart in a way that makes you want to play it again and again. I...

would highly recommend getting both books and the accompanying CDs, as it is extremely helpful to hear the artist himself and the emotion that he inserts into each and every piece.

Easy to play and listen to - soothing and haunting at the same time. Will definitely buy Volume 2 next.
