  • June 10, 2012 Sicilienne for violin or cello

A beautiful melody attributed for many years to Mozart's favourite pupil (see Wikipedia for biographical details)but now thought to be by Samuel Dushkin. I possess a recording by Nathan Milstein who thrilled everybody by his playing of the Bach unaccompanied suites in the 1950's. On the violin...

the difficulty of the piece is primarily the choice of position to keep the tonalities even.

My daughter plays the violin at the advanced level and could play this at first sight. It is a very beautiful piece that is fun for the violin as well as the cello. The quality of the music paper itself is also nice, and shipping was prompt.

  • October 12, 2007 Lovely Melody, Easy Accompaniment

This well-known solo would be a good meditation piece for church, not too flashy and not hard to put together. The piano part is very simple and the cello melody is lovely.

  • September 12, 2007 Maria Theresa Von Paradis, Sicilienne cello/piano

A lovely piece of music for the intermediate cellist. The arrangement is made even more enjoyable by the fact that Maria Theresa Von Paradis was herself a cellist. Cover and paper quality are worth mention.
