I recently purchased this music for my 9-12 grade choir students. We are a very small school, so we only have 8 boys in our choir...I assigned 2 for each part. All of them love this piece. We have a lot fun practicing it and I'm sure...

our audience will love it. The students, when first hearing a recording of "Sh-boom" while looking over their new music, automatically recognized the piece from the movie "Cars". I hadn't realized it was in that movie...I'd only heard it on the oldies station for many years. The harmonies are not too difficult to learn fairly quickly and it's a nice option for a sort of Barbershop style piece. Every part gets a turn with the melody at some point. T1 lingers in the f-above-Middle C range quite a bit so you'll need singers who can comfortably sing in that register for much of the piece. The girls in our choir like to listen to them practice this piece because it's just so much fun, the melody is lovely and the text is sweet and old-fashioned.
